Let’s talk about sex!

Many of our professional trainings fail to provide us with, even a basic education in human sexuality, sexual issues and the diverse sexualities and genders that clients may present with. The trainings that do, are often based on traditional heteronormative sex therapy models.

Some of the problems that our clients seek help for; are the very issues that may impact on their sex life and relationships, but we often fail to discuss this during the history taking, or the therapy process. This may be because we feel that we don’t have enough knowledge and training on the subject, or because we feel embarrassed to talk about sex ourselves, or maybe, we are afraid of using the wrong language or terminology?

Carol’s approach to her work, just like her therapy style, is open, honest, and down to earth, with a sprinkling of humour. We know that you will feel comfortable and relaxed in her company, and as a result, will have a wonderful learning experience.

About Carol

Carol has qualifications in psychotherapy, counselling, psychosexual therapy, relationship therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), Clinical, Cognitive and Ericksonian Hypnotherapy, EMDR, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Life Coaching.
She is also qualified to teach, having gained the qualification to teach adults in the Lifelong Learning Sector.
She has been in private practice in Basingstoke Hampshire for over ten years now.  She has worked with hundreds of clients, clocked up thousands of client hours and feels compelled to pass on the valuable lessons she has learnt and the knowledge she has acquired during her work experience and extensive training.
In her current private practice, North Hampshire Clinic, she specialises in working with clients who present with sexual, and relationship issues, anxiety and trauma.
Carol has recently developed a series of workshops and trainings for all practitioners working in the fields of counselling, psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, sexual health and medicine, and this year proudly opened the North Hampshire College of Therapeutic Practice.

The format of our meetings is all about sharing experience and advice with your fellow professionals, so please do feel free to join in the discussion.

To finish off the meeting there will be any opportunity to discuss any client issues we may have and get advice from your fellow professionals.

The meeting will close at 9pm – however the hotel bar is open. It’s always good to let the chat spill over to the bar!

Cost: £4
